Editor's Review
Stepping into Savanna Military Surplus feels like wandering into a treasure trove of unique finds. Nestled in the heart of Savanna, Illinois, this family-owned gem has been serving the community since 1992. Reviewers consistently highlight the friendly atmosphere and welcoming owner, who seems to genuinely enjoy connecting with customers. As Rod McCarthy noted, 'Place cracks me up. I make sure I stop by anytime I am in the area.' This lighthearted spirit is infectious, making visits to the store more of an experience than a simple shopping trip.
Another recurring theme is the impressive selection of military surplus items, which ranges from vintage gear to new camping supplies and tactical clothing. Jacob R. reminisced about snagging items that reminded him of his time in the Marines, showcasing how the store resonates with those who have served. It's clear that thereβs something for everyone, whether you're a collector of vintage military gear or just need some sturdy camping equipment.
However, a few customers did mention that the stock can be hit or miss, particularly for niche items like vinyl records. Jean-Francois LeBlanc shared, 'Came here looking for vinyl records... Lots of interesting items here.' While the store boasts an eclectic range, those with specific items in mind may not always find what they seek.

Snagged a few things which reminded me of my time in the Marines. They got some cool stuff, new and old. Wish I could've grabbed a few more of their nice looking knives though. Probably will if we pass through again, they look worth it!
